Hemp as a food derived from the cannabis sativa plant and contains as much as 25% to 50% protein, that's up to 50gms per 100gms of sheer clean unadulterated plant protein, depending on it origins. Cannabis sativa is the food version of the genus cannabis.
I won't begin to delve into the reasons why it is seen by many as 'new' because it is not. There are recorded findings of hemp which have been carbon dated as old as 7000 years.
Not only are its seeds plentiful in trace minerals, omega essential fatty acids 3, and 6 but it is also high in amino acids.
It is rich in iron, magnesium, folate and zinc.
